Why is Ross Ulbricht being free good?

Genuinely curious to understand libertarians on this one.

I like to consider myself to be apolitical for the most part and upon reading a headline that the founder of the Silk Road was pardoned I was frankly a bit appalled at the statement.

I see so much vocal support here on this platform but don’t feel like I really understand why.

Could you please help me understand the side of this story I’m not hearing?
